The Lonely Brown Trout

Author:Araman Cam is the pen name for Bafta Award winning video game writer and director Brendan McNamara. Brendan writes video games for a living and also songs for the music collective Extra Time. This is his first attempt at writing a children’s story but as a father of four he has certainly read a vast number of children’s books. The Lonely Brown Trout came about during a bushwalk in the Blue Mountains, near Sydney. At the top of Wentworth Falls there is a pool on the edge of a huge precipice. That pool contained one little brown trout swimming round and around all by itself.Illustrator:Emma Stuart has been illustrating children’s books for the past 11 years. In this time, she has illustrated over 30 books. Emma works primarily with watercolours but also works with acrylics, oils, pen and ink and pencil. Her characters are full of life and bring a real sense of light heartedness to the reader. Emma can work in a large range of genres and styles, from highly detailed realism to simple character-based illustration.
