ISBN: 9781923259034
Based on true events, this is the untold story of the foreign currency bank loans scandal that rocked Australia in the 1980s, devastating over 4,500 families. In a world where powerful politicians and privileged bankers called the shots, greed reigned, leaving small business owners and farmers to pay the price. The narrative follows Tom Mortimer, whose journey begins on a dairy farm in rural Georgica in 1959 and takes him to the high-stakes world of Sydney’s Pitt Street bankers. The story reaches its climax in 1987 with a dramatic David vs. Goliath courtroom showdown as Tom takes on the system that betrayed him.
