Meet Nikki, the author behind the rhyming tale of Charlie the Bin Truck Driver! Hailing from the sun-kissed shores of the Gold Coast, Nikki’s journey began in New Zealand, moved swiftly to Australia, with detours through the UK. After navigating various corporate careers, Nikki’s passion for writing was reignited after becoming a mum. Inspired by her two bin-truck-obsessed boys and a friendly wave from their local rubbish truck driver, Nikki penned Charlie the Bin Truck Driver to bring joy to children everywhere. When she’s not busy dreaming up new stories, you can find her unwinding at the beach, chasing waterfalls in the hinterland or soaking up quality time with her loved ones. Join Nikki and Charlie on their rubbish-filled adventures!

Illustrator:

Katrina currently resides in Brisbane, Australia investigating her painting practice from her home studio. Working full time as a personalization artist for Louis Vuitton, Brisbane. Born January, 1980, Katrina spent the majority of her youth residing in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia. From an early age she was enticed to the act of drawing and painting, influenced by the beauty of the area as well as television and film of the era. Katrina would draw upon 80’s graphic novels, morning cartoons and traditional painting techniques of local teachers in the area. After graduating year 11, she continued her education with the creative arts studying at the Whitehouse School of Design, Sydney. After finishing with a Diploma of Interior Decoration & Design, she returned to her first love of animation, and began work with the Walt Disney Animation Australia. As technology moved from traditional illustration into the digital sphere, so did Katrina. In 2002 she relocated to Melbourne, where she would continue as a freelance illustrator while studying a Postgraduate Diploma in Animation at the Victorian College of the Arts. Returning to Sydney in 2008 she would continue her studies at the National Art School, graduating in 2010 in majoring in Painting. From 2015 to 2017 Katrina worked for Parker’s Fine Art Supplies while continuing as a Freelance Illustrator and Artist.
