Essential Pharmacology in Paramedic Practice

<p>Carl A Webster With over a decade of experience in higher education, including a PhD in pharmacology and research into drug delivery systems, Carl has established a distinguished career. Beginning as a lecturer in pharmacology, Carl later qualified as a paramedic, and has since led pharmacology modules and paramedic courses at multiple universities. As a Principal Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University (NTU), Carl leads the Paramedic team, providing strategic vision and management for various academic programmes. These responsibilities include the development and leadership of courses such as the CertHE Ambulance Technician Practice, MSc Paramedic Science, BSc Paramedic Science, and the Apprenticeship BSc Paramedic Science. Carls academic and research work focuses on enhancing paramedic practice by integrating research, clinical practice, and education. In addition to academic responsibilities, Carl serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Paramedic Practice and is a Geographical Education Lead for the College of Paramedics, participating in the Paramedic Education Network. As an Executive Member of the European Prehospital Research Network, Carl continues to contribute to the shaping of paramedic education at both national and international levels. Rachel Pogson With over five years of experience in higher education at two universities, and more than ten years of out-of-hospital clinical experience, Rachel Pogson brings a wealth of real-world knowledge and teaching expertise to the table. Formally a Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Practice at Edge Hill University, Rachel now works at Keele University as a Lecturer in Paramedic Science. Rachel holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education and is currently undertaking further study. Her extensive teaching portfolio includes working with a diverse range of health and social care students and Rachel has developed a passion for advocating for equality, diversity, and inclusion through her wider roles within higher education. Passionate about student support and the enhancement of patient care, Rachel continues to practice clinically as a paramedic for the North West Ambulance Service alongside her academic role, having previously worked within the London Ambulance Service. Rachel draws on her comprehensive background, knowledge and experiences to support students, with the broader goal of improving patient care.</p><br>
