Debut collection So Many Rooms won the Seamus Heaney First Collection Prize 2020 and the East Anglian Book Award for Poetry 2020. This highly anticipated second collection tells stories, many of them with powerfulhistorical resonance, drawing on lived experience, relationships, pain and love. Many of the poems have the intimate feel of letters intercepted, things overheard, profoundly human and moving, wry and revealing. Continuing her engagement with Chekov, The Fourth Sister includes a long poem, ‘why are you silent?’, made out of letters between Chekhov and the actress Olga Knipper, his wife and ‘first lady’, who died aged 90 in 1959.
