Jennifer Bradley grew up in Narromine and was fascinated by the photos of 1930s air shows from the filing cabinets at the local aerodrome. After taking early retirement from the public service, where she had developed policy and written what she described as creative non fiction for various governments, she decided to try and tell a story of the aviation pioneers in 1920s and 1930s Australia.
