Educating Nurses for Leadership

This book provides tools for nurse educators and administrators to prepare nurses to be effective leaders so that they may advance health care practice and the profession of nursing. Part I describes a Leadership Education Model and its six modules of leader as achiever, communicator, critical thinker, expert, mentor, and visionary. Part II presents proven strategies from schools across the United States for integrating leadership into the nursing curriculum. Part III discusses strategies that can be used in the clinical setting by administrators and staff developers. The annotated bibliography at the back of the book offers important additional resources on leadership development in nursing.
