A little girl called Scarlett giggles whenever she sees a leopard. One leopard takes offence at this apparent insult to his ferocity: he roars very loudly to frighten her, but Scarlett just giggles all the more. Eventually, she explains to the leopard that she only giggles because she is so frightened of him; she tells him she thinks leopards are even fiercer than lions. The leopard is won over by her honestly confessing her fear and they become great friends.

About the Author

Author:The Girl who Giggled at Leopards was not published in Sue Moore's all-too-short lifetime but she would have been delighted that her charming story can now achieve its purpose and be enjoyed by children and adults.Illustrator:Trish Le Moignan is a Renaissance woman, pianist, violinist, music teacher, artist, portrait painter, illustrator, eco-warrior, friend of turtles and builder of dry-stone walls. After taking a degree in medieval art and literature at Exeter University, she worked in the Drama Department at BBC-TV. She taught violin and piano by the Suzuki method in the UK and changed her focus to painting when she moved to Australia in 2009. The Booze Cheese and Chocolate Diet and The Girl who Giggled at Leopards are her first published works as an illustrator.
